BGA is one of the leading producers of palm/kernel oil with vast plantation in Indonesia and has been listed on the Singapore Exchange since 2012. BGA is committed to sustainable palm oil development, guided by its Sustainability Policy and adhering to the mandatory requirement of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO). BGA is a member of the internationally recognised Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). One of the mills of GREE’s biogas project is RSPO certified.

As the host, BGA will supply the biogas feedstock from the two mills in Kalimantan. GREE will generate clean and reliable energy by capturing the methane and treating the wastewater. Through the strategic partnership with BGA, GREE aims to magnify the impact of a biogas project in rural areas.

“We hope the partnership will assist Bumitama in their commitment to become a sustainable palm oil producer. This project will enable emissions to be reduced drastically while also facilitating the flourishing of local economies through clean and reliable energy. ”– Nicolas Stirer, CEO and Founder of GREE.

“In choosing which projects to develop, we take a more holistic approach by considering how we can contribute to sustainable development. GREE takes into account not only the economic benefits criteria, but also as important are the environment and social impacts criteria. We proceed to develop only selected projects that meet both criterias, and among those selected projects, two are Bumitama Projects.” – Ir. Choky YF Simanjuntak, MBA, GREE’s Director of Business Development.

Stay tuned for updates from the Bumitama Projects, as we share more on how the project will generate massive social and environmental impact.
