GREE Energy is partnering with SMK ORA et LABORA to support capacity development in the biogas-to-energy sector in Indonesia. This collaboration supports an initiative of the renewable energy association of Indonesia allowing the transfer of knowledge from experts to the future generation to develop the renewable energy sector in Indonesia.

SMK ORA et LABORA is the first private vocational high school with electrical engineering program located in BSD, Tangerang with a program that focuses on the needs of the industry. The internship program (field industrial practices) is in line with the school’s aim to contribute to the 35,000 Megawatt plan by PT PLN (state-owned electricity company), to meet the needs of skilled and quality operators in the field of electrical engineering in Indonesia.

“GREE is very professional in terms of planning and implementation of the collaboration with SMK ORA et LABORA for the internship opportunity. We are very happy and confident that the collaboration can provide a valuable experience for our students, especially in the renewable energy field.” – Dr.Eng. Purnomo Sejati, S.ST., M.Eng., Head Master of SMK ORA et LABORA.

The program consists of 3 months learning from experts on the field including enhancing knowledge and skills of students to have a more hands on experience. Dwiky Cahya Suhendra, GREE’s intern, will witness the construction and the grid connection in Lampung during his internship. Exposure to real situations on site will prepare students when they enter the workforce in the future.

“I hope through the internship in GREE I can understand more about the process of generating electricity from tapioca waste. Additionally, I would also like to learn more about the electrical industry.” – Dwiky, student at SMK Ora et Labora on his expectations from the internship program in Lampung.

Stay tuned for updates from Dwiky, as he shares on what he learned during the internship in GREE!
